About The Position

This job is responsible for defining an architectural vision and solution aligned to the enterprise architecture strategy, technology, and platform choices. Key responsibilities include describing the solution intent/associated operating environment, evaluating system impacts, determining the primary systems/sub-systems and their interfaces, and assisting with end-to-end solution design. Job expectations include defining non-functional requirements/architectural runway to support new epics/features and ensuring solutions are fit for purpose by working with stakeholders and service providers. You will play a key role in shaping scalable, resilient, and secure solutions that support both current and future business needs. You will be working in Bank of America flagship Global Corporate Banking application called “CashPro” that is used nearly across170+ countries.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of applicable experience
  • Extensive experience in Application development using Java, Angular and React.
  • Exposure to NoSQL and Relational DBs such as Elastic Search, Solr, Oracle. MongoDB
  • Bring up efficiency in design and development by using AI tech such as CoPilot.
  • Working with multiple cross functional teams and applications which have multiple competing priorities.
  • Can evaluate technology stacks and come up risk vs rewards details.
  • Extensive experience designing and leading architecture for enterprise‑scale AI platforms, including chatbot ecosystems, NLP pipelines, intent management systems, and automated decisioning frameworks.
  • Proven ability to architect, deliver, and maintain complex conversational AI systems similar to CashPro Chat (Erica), including support for large volumes of new intents, continuous tuning, and quality management.
  • Deep technical expertise in distributed systems, microservices, event‑driven architectures, APIs, and cloud‑native design principles.
  • Strong background in Payments technology, including ACH, real‑time payment flows, security protocols, admin workflows, reconciliation, and regulatory considerations relevant to financial platforms.
  • Demonstrated experience transitioning vendor‑built platforms into full in‑house ownership, including refactoring or complete rewrites of legacy vendor systems.
  • Ability to lead architectural governance, ensure alignment with enterprise standards, and drive long‑term technical strategy in partnership with product, engineering, operations, compliance, and regulatory teams.
  • Strong understanding of quality, reliability, and resiliency standards required for mission‑critical financial applications, including SLAs, observability, security, and failover patterns.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, capable of influencing senior stakeholders and driving architectural decisions across multiple workstreams.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide long‑term platform stewardship, ensuring continuity, IP retention, and stable execution for multi‑year critical initiatives.
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science or equivalent

Nice To Haves

  • Experience implementing next‑generation chatbot frameworks such as Agentic AI models or self‑improving conversational systems.
  • Familiarity with enterprise AI frameworks, including native skill integration and advanced AI capability adoption.
  • Knowledge of intent analytics, data‑driven conversation optimization, and automated evaluation/tuning tooling.
  • Background in financial forecasting, treasury management systems, or liquidity optimization platforms.
  • Experience modernizing legacy financial systems through cloud migration, containerization, and modernization toolkits.
  • Hands‑on experience with enterprise‑grade security architectures, including identity management, encryption frameworks, and secure data handling in regulated environments.
  • Exposure to regulatory and compliance frameworks relevant to financial institutions, supporting design decisions that meet audit‑ready standards.
  • Familiarity with large‑scale transformation efforts involving multiple stakeholder groups, product domains, and multi‑phase migration roadmaps.
  • Experience with performance engineering, optimization of high‑traffic AI endpoints, and scaling strategies for large‑volume conversational platforms.
  • A willingness to learn, explore new technologies, and continuously enhance skills is highly valued.

Responsibilities

  • Lead architecture, design, and technical direction for CashPro Chat (Erica) including new intents, tuning, and conversational quality improvements.
  • Drive adoption and integration of advanced AI capabilities, including Erica native skills and Erica 2.0 evolution.
  • Oversee Agentic Chat analysis and emerging conversational AI frameworks.
  • Lead rewrite and in‑house development of the ACH Payments application.
  • Ensure all solutions meet enterprise standards for security, compliance, resiliency, and regulatory alignment.
  • Partner cross‑functionally with Product, Compliance, Regulatory, LOB Technology, and Architecture governance teams.
  • Maintain long‑term accountability for critical platforms, ensuring stability, scalability, and continuous improvement.
  • Clarifies the architecture and assists with system design for the development teams to support implementation and provides solution options to resolve any architectural impediments.
  • Utilizes the defined best practices, templates, and documentation to create architectural designs and suggests improvements to best practices and templates.
