About The Position

The University of Miami Health System (“UHealth”) Facilities Operations & Planning Department has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Architect in Miami. The Architect oversees and plans all architectural aspects of construction projects. Specifically, the Architect performs design computations, compiles data, and completes architectural assignments.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in relevant field required
Minimum 7 years of relevant experience required.
Learning Agility: Ability to learn new procedures, technologies, and protocols, and adapt to changing priorities and work demands.
Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with others and contribute to a team environment.
Technical Proficiency: Skilled in using office software, technology, and relevant computer applications.
Communication: Strong and clear written and verbal communication skills for interacting with colleagues and stakeholders.
Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience and/or certifications may be considered.

Responsibilities

Prepares project estimates and architectural plans as assigned.
Inspects structures in the field.
Writes specifications, coordinates with material manufacturers, and inspects raw materials.
Selects, evaluates, and implements architectural procedures and techniques to use in the completion of projects.
Formulates architectural reports and specifications.
Reviews completed architectural plans and estimates.
Approves final specifications and ordered materials.
Provides overall guidance on project objectives and concepts.
Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.
