About The Position

Join FIS’s Public Cloud platform team to help design, operate, and secure our multi‑cloud network foundation across Azure and AWS. You’ll apply solid networking fundamentals, build infrastructure with Terraform, and manage Palo Alto Networks firewalls. This role is ideal for someone experienced enough to contribute immediately and who can give hands‑on mentorship and guidance in strategic initiatives and architectural thinking.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of distributed systems, APIs, data architectures, and integration patterns.
  • Hands‑on experience with cloud platforms (Azure and AWS), microservices, and containerized environments.
  • Strong working knowledge of Terraform (module creation, state mgmt., pipeline integration).
  • Practical experience with Palo Alto Networks firewalls and Panorama.
  • Core fundamentals: TCP/IP, BGP, IPsec, TLS, DNS, load balancing concepts.
  • Ability to clearly document designs, troubleshoot collaboratively, and communicate effectively with technical and non‑technical partners.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD, and infrastructure‑as‑code practices.
  • Architecture or cloud certifications.
  • Azure Firewall / AWS Network Firewall / WAF experience.
  • CI/CD exposure (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps).
  • Network observability (Flow Logs, Panorama logs, SIEM pipelines).
  • Kubernetes networking (AKS/EKS CNI, ingress, egress controls).
  • Experience with enterprise connectivity, SD‑WAN, or hybrid cloud routing.
  • Familiarity with HA Proxy or any Reverse Proxy solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Build and support Azure/AWS VNet/VPC architectures, routing (including BGP), load balancing, private connectivity (ExpressRoute / Direct Connect), DNS, and microsegmentation.
  • Create and maintain Terraform code and modules; participate in code reviews; improve automation and standardization.
  • Build, refine, and maintain firewall and Panorama policies, NAT rules, segmentation controls, and ipsec tunnels.
  • Investigate and resolve L3–L7 issues across cloud environments, firewalls, and dependencies; contribute to RCA and preventive patterns.
  • Work with cloud security and risk teams on inspection, logging, least privilege, micro‑segmentation, and governance frameworks.
  • Collaborate with app, platform, and security partners; maintain documentation and runbooks; assist with on‑call rotations.
  • Improve cost, reliability, automation, and observability for cloud networking platforms.
  • Translate business and regulatory requirements into clear architectural designs.
  • Establish architecture standards, patterns, and best practices across teams.
  • Review designs and code to ensure quality, security, performance, and scalability.
  • Support modernization of legacy platforms and adoption of emerging technologies.
