About The Position

StructureCraft is a unique, vertically integrated design-build company comprising 200 engineering and construction professionals. They specialize in timber structures, integrating steel, glass, concrete, and other materials. Since their inception in 1998, the company has pioneered award-winning structural concepts for building and bridge structures across institutional, high-rise, office, residential, cultural, and public projects, staying at the forefront of the mass timber "revolution." Rooted in their mission of "making beautiful structures possible," StructureCraft combines traditional principles with innovative approaches to maximize material properties. As a firm of master engineers and timber construction experts with offices in Canada, the United States, and Italy, they collaborate with world-renowned developers, owners, and architects, often serving as the Structural Engineer of Record, to create elegant, sustainable buildings that benefit the community. Their head office and shop are located in the Fraser Valley, east of Vancouver, with a Vancouver office in Mount Pleasant, and international engineering offices in Seattle, WA, and Trento, Italy. They also employ remote staff globally.

Requirements

  • Architecture degree (B.Arch, M.Arch, or similar architecture / design degree or diploma). Registration is not required.
  • Strong InDesign proficiency and experience with the broader Adobe Creative Cloud.
  • Sharp, nimble personality with a good grasp of the latest technology and AI innovations.
  • Ability to use large language models (Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, or similar) as a core production tool.
  • Experience with Bluebeam Revu, PowerPoint, MS Word, and Canva.
  • Particularity for technical writing, including a penchant for "getting it right" in grammar, proposal organization, and quality of content.
  • Motivation to take ownership of pursuits start to finish.
  • Ability to think globally – digest RFPs into succinct outlines and high-priority tasks.
  • Ability to coordinate content from engineers and sub-consultants.
  • Ability to manage deadlines without being managed.
  • Proven ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • High sense of urgency, attention to detail, proactiveness, and comfort working directly with senior management.
  • Strong verbal and written communication in English, with the ability to phrase broad technical ideas concisely.
  • Passion for architecture, engineering, and design, and being part of a collaborative, tight-knit team in a creative environment.
  • A sense of urgency in meeting goals and exceeding expectations.
  • Ability to take ownership and accountability start to finish.
  • Ability to communicate openly, regularly, professionally, and in a timely manner.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in AEC business development, proposals, marketing, or sales (agency or in-house).
  • Familiarity with structural engineering concepts or construction methods.
  • Knowledge of CRM platforms (e.g., HubSpot) and content management tools (e.g., Notion).
  • Experience building internal tools, automations, or workflows using AI coding assistants (Claude Code, Codex, Cowork, OpenClaw, etc).
  • Ability to build and foster internal and external relationships that are open, collaborative, and professional.

Responsibilities

  • Produce proposals and presentations in InDesign regularly to a high visual standard.
  • Utilize large language models (Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, or similar) as a core production tool for generating, formatting, and automating deliverables.
  • Contribute to the evolution of how proposals and client-facing materials are produced using agentic coding environments.
  • Perform technical writing, ensuring grammatical correctness, proposal organization, and quality of content for various document types.
  • Take ownership of pursuits from start to finish, including digesting RFPs into succinct outlines and high-priority tasks.
  • Coordinate content from engineers and sub-consultants.
  • Manage deadlines without being managed.
  • Multi-task effectively in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating a high sense of urgency, attention to detail, and proactiveness.
  • Communicate openly, regularly, professionally, and in a timely manner.
  • Represent the best interests of StructureCraft at all times.
