About The Position

Logan Simpson is seeking a regular full-time Archaeologist to join their award-winning, multidisciplinary consulting firm. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a diverse, collaborative, and innovative team, expand skillsets, and bring new tools and ideas to the table. The position is based out of the Flagstaff, AZ office with a hybrid remote schedule. Logan Simpson, founded in 1990, is comprised of over 150 talented professionals across six offices in the western United States, specializing in environmental planning, cultural resource management, community planning, and landscape architecture design services. Their mission is to work together to guide responsible change, with a focus on protecting natural resources and advancing community well-being. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology or related field.
  • Successful completion of archaeological field school.
  • 1+ years of cultural resources management (CRM) experience.
  • Good understanding and ability to identify archaeological features and artifacts during cultural resources survey, monitoring, and excavation fieldwork.
  • Ability to work outdoors in extreme temperatures and in remote locations (camping is a possibility).
  • Ability to walk up to 10 miles per day over steep terrain for extended periods of time.
  • Willingness to work overnight and on weekends.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with crew members and supervisors.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working with government and Tribal agencies and personnel.

Responsibilities

  • Working as a crew member on archaeological cultural resources surveys, monitoring, and excavation projects throughout Arizona and adjacent states.
  • Assisting with laboratory work (e.g., washing and inventorying artifacts).
  • Technical report writing/preparation.
