About The Position

We have an immediate opening for a regular full-time Archaeologist to work a hybrid remote schedule based out of our Flagstaff, AZ office. Logan Simpson is made up of a team of 150+ talented professionals across six offices in the western United States. We are experts in environmental planning, cultural resource management, community planning, and landscape architecture design services. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology or related field.
  • Successful completion of archaeological field school.
  • 1+ years of cultural resources management (CRM) experience.
  • Possess a good understanding and ability to identify archaeological features and artifacts during cultural resources survey, monitoring, and excavation fieldwork.
  • Ability to work outdoors in extreme temperatures and in remote locations (camping is a possibility).
  • Ability to walk up to 10 miles per day over steep terrain for extended periods of time.
  • Willingness to work overnight and on weekends.
  • Must be able to work cooperatively with crew members and supervisors.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working with government and Tribal agencies and personnel.

Responsibilities

  • Working as a crew member on archaeological cultural resources surveys, monitoring, and excavation projects throughout Arizona and adjacent states.
  • Assisting with laboratory work (e.g., washing and inventorying artifacts).
  • Technical report writing/preparation.
