About The Position

AtkinsRéalis is seeking an Archaeological Intern to join our Tallahassee or Tampa, FL office. This role will provide administrative and operational support for cultural resource management projects, including archaeological surveys and report preparation. The intern will also conduct archaeological fieldwork under supervision, which may include pedestrian survey, shovel testing, data collection, and/or data recovery in diverse environmental conditions. Additionally, the intern will assist with project-related tasks such as artifact processing, data entry, curation, report figure production, site form preparation, desktop survey, and consultation activities.

Requirements

  • Must have completed 60 hours toward a Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, or a closely related field by the start of the internship.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions precisely.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills; ability to work collaboratively.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying field conditions, walk long distances, carry up to 40 pounds of equipment, stoop, and squat.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; basic computer and data entry skills.

Nice To Haves

  • No prior Cultural Resource Management work experience is required.
