About The Position

Farm Credit Mid-America's Internship Program offers a meaningful, hands-on experience where interns contribute to real projects that support our purpose of securing the future of rural communities and agriculture. Interns are embedded within teams across the Association and take ownership of project work that delivers tangible value to the business, gaining practical experience while developing critical professional skills. Our 12-week program (Mid-May to early August) combines on-the-job experience, job shadowing, mentorship, and customer-focused experiences. In addition, interns will participate in a series of learning and development opportunities to build skills that translate to the workplace.

Requirements

• College students actively pursuing a bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, agriculture, economics, business, or related field.
• Completed a minimum of 45 credit hours toward their degree at the start of the intern program.
• US Citizen or unrestricted work authorization is required (no sponsorship available).
• Provide your own transportation to commute to and from your work location.

Responsibilities

• Work as a cohort and within smaller teams in a variety of work and project situations throughout the program.
• Be exposed to several departments and functions throughout the duration of the program, including Credit, Collateral, Food and Agribusiness, Human Resources, Marketing and Retail Operations and Rural 1st teams.
• Gain Farm Credit Mid-America and industry knowledge as well as develop professional skills by completing a series of learning & development activities, including workshops, classes, and immersive experiences.
• Demonstrate FCMA values through interaction with potential and current FCMA customers, the community, and the office team.
• Assist the office staff in daily activities as appropriate.
• Represent and communicate our core values and comply with conduct policy and confidentiality expectations.
• Present learnings and experiences from the program to members of the Farm Credit Mid-America leadership team at the conclusion of the internship.
