Dewberry seeks to hire Archaeological Field Technicians for upcoming projects along the east coast of America, weather dependent. Additional work assignments may lead from this project contingent upon the quality of the archaeological services demonstrated throughout this assignment. Requirements

  • Successful completion of an archaeological field school
  • Bachelor’s degree in anthropology, archaeology or related field.
  • Standing or kneeling for long periods of time
  • Hiking in rugged terrain
  • Carrying up to 40 lbs of gear
  • Prior experience with GPS units in the field
  • Traversing topographically challenging terrain

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of precontact archaeological material
  • Previous experience with all phases of excavation and artifact identification

Responsibilities

  • Conduct all aspects of fieldwork in all weather conditions
  • Work under supervision and as part of a team
  • Conduct a surface archaeological survey
  • Excavation and artifact identification
