About The Position

Logan Simpson is seeking temporary Archaeological Field Technicians to join their multidisciplinary consulting firm. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to a diverse, collaborative, and innovative team, expand skillsets, and bring new tools and ideas to the table. The positions are based in Arizona, with immediate openings out of the Tempe or Tucson offices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology or Archaeology and/or completion of an accredited field school; applicants without these credentials will also be considered.
  • Ability to walk up to 10 miles per day over steep terrain for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to work in remote locations.
  • Proficiency with electronic devices such as smartphones and tablets for digital data collection.
  • A valid driver’s license and willingness to carpool and travel to out-of-town job sites.

Nice To Haves

  • Education and/or experience in the U.S. Southwest, especially the Hohokam region.
  • Experience conducting fieldwork in a cultural resource management setting, especially archaeological excavation.

Responsibilities

  • Work cooperatively with crew members and supervisors.
  • Work outdoors in extreme temperatures.
  • Identify archaeological artifacts and features.
