About The Position

Logan Simpson has an immediate opening for an Archaeological Field Technician to work in Arizona, based out of our Flagstaff office. This position involves participating in archaeological excavation, monitoring, and pedestrian survey projects as a crew member, under the supervision of a field director or crew lead throughout Arizona and adjacent states.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology or Archaeology and/or completion of an accredited field school. Applicants without a degree or field school experience will be considered.
  • Experience in the U.S. Southwest.
  • Experience conducting fieldwork in a cultural resource management setting.
  • Ability to identify archaeological artifacts and features.
  • Ability to work outdoors in extreme temperatures and in remote locations (camping is a possibility).
  • Ability to walk up to 10 miles per day over steep terrain for extended periods of time.
  • Willingness to work overnight and on weekends.
  • A willingness to work out-of-town.
  • Proficiency with electronic devices such as smart phones and tablets for digital data collection.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
