About The Position
ICF seeks on-call field Archaeologists for upcoming projects involving survey and excavation work throughout the Southeastern United States. The company is seeking Field Technicians, Crew Chiefs, and Field Directors. On-call employees are scheduled for hours as work becomes available, usually a few weeks in advance, and may accept or refuse the hours assigned in a given week. They may work on concurrent projects outside ICF if that work does not create a conflict of interest with their ICF assignments.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, or a related discipline.
- At least 1 year of relevant professional work experience.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check.
- Access to a reliable vehicle.
- Ability to conduct field work in remote locations and comfort working in the field environment.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in varied environments, including high temperatures.
- Experience with GPS technologies.
- Computer skills, including the MS Office Suite.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Excellent field skills, artifact analyses, and keeping field notes and records.
Nice To Haves
- Local candidates currently residing in the Southeast are highly preferred.
- Work experience in archaeological survey and excavation, preferably in the Southeastern United States.
