About The Position

Accenture's Utilities Practice uses deep industry expertise in digital customer engagement, operations, connected energy services, and customer platforms to assist retail energy and utility providers in improving cost-effectiveness, revenue assurance/extension, and customer satisfaction and loyalty. Transmission & distribution (T&D) organizations are challenged to innovate, invest strategically, and modernize infrastructure to balance supply and demand, optimize assets and teams, and move towards net-zero emissions. The ArcGIS Utility Network Consultant will support the design, configuration, and implementation of ArcGIS Utility Network solutions for electric and gas utility clients. This role involves modernizing legacy GIS environments and supporting the transition from traditional geometric network models to the ArcGIS Utility Network platform, working alongside senior solution architects and project leadership. The consultant will contribute to functional design, business process analysis, application configuration, testing, and implementation activities, partnering with client stakeholders and cross-functional delivery teams. This position offers the chance to work on large-scale utility transformation programs aimed at enhancing grid operations, asset management, field mobility, and enterprise GIS capabilities.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience implementing ArcGIS Utility Network solutions within electric or gas utilities.
  • Experience supporting GIS implementation, business analysis, functional design, configuration, testing, or deployment activities.
  • Strong understanding of utility operational processes including engineering, asset management, field operations, construction, maintenance, or outage management.
  • Experience working with ArcGIS Utility Network (required).
  • Experience with the Esri platform (preferred), including one or more of: ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Experience Builder, ArcGIS Field Maps, ArcGIS Workforce, ArcGIS Survey123.
  • Understanding of Utility Network concepts including: Network topology, Asset and device modeling, Network rules, Network tracing, Branch versioning.
  • Experience supporting integrations between GIS and enterprise systems.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent (12 years) work experience (If an, Associate’s Degree with 6 years of work experience).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working for a utility, consulting firm, or Esri implementation partner.
  • Experience supporting ArcGIS Utility Network migrations from ArcGIS Geometric Network.
  • Exposure to Digital As-Builts, Field Mapping, Mobile Workforce Management, or Utility Engineering workflows.
  • Experience working with enterprise platforms such as SAP, Maximo, IFS, Oracle Utilities, IBM, or Hexagon.
  • Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies and modern software implementation practices.
  • Experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools, automation, or analytics to improve project delivery or operational performance.
  • Relevant Esri certifications or active pursuit of Esri training and certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation of ArcGIS Utility Network solutions for electric and gas utility clients.
  • Participate in requirements gathering, business process analysis, solution design, configuration, testing, and deployment activities.
  • Assist in translating utility business requirements into ArcGIS Utility Network capabilities and functional workflows.
  • Support the migration from legacy GIS environments (including ArcGIS Geometric Network) to ArcGIS Utility Network using industry best practices.
  • Collaborate with senior solution architects, technical teams, and client stakeholders to deliver high-quality GIS solutions.
  • Contribute to workshops, design sessions, system demonstrations, user acceptance testing, and end-user training activities.
  • Support integration efforts between GIS and enterprise platforms including Enterprise Asset Management (EAM), Work Management, Outage Management Systems (OMS), Customer Information Systems (CIS), and field mobility solutions.
  • Develop project documentation, functional specifications, process flows, and client-ready deliverables.
  • Collaborate across business and technology teams to help clients modernize GIS capabilities and improve operational performance.
