About The Position
Tutors provide individual assistance to students in the Academic Resource Center (ARC) during specified hours on a weekly schedule. The science tutor will assist students enrolled in CHEM 103, CHEM 104, CHEM 206, CHEM 207, and CHEM 305. The primary responsibility is to provide academic guidance and modeling, not to complete homework assignments or take-home exams.
Requirements
- Minimum 3.0 GPA.
- Sophomore standing or higher.
- Successfully completed the coursework for the designated tutoring courses.
- Earned a B or higher grade in the Mercer University course (or a related, upper-level Mercer University course if coursework was completed elsewhere).
- Obtained a signed recommendation from the corresponding academic department.
Responsibilities
- Provide individual assistance to students.
- Work in the Academic Resource Center (ARC) during specified hours on the weekly schedule.
- Tutor students during scheduled hours.
- Provide academic guidance and modeling for students.
- Assist students enrolled in CHEM 103, CHEM 104, CHEM 206, CHEM 207, and CHEM 305.
