About The Position

Bartlett Tree Experts is seeking an Arborist Representative Trainee to join its growing team. The role combines arboriculture and client relationship development, with ongoing training and mentoring from a dedicated team of arborists. The trainee learns the business and sales process while working in a defined territory and on a tree care crew, then transitions to a full-time Arborist Representative.

Requirements

• 1–3 years of related experience in the tree care industry or prior sales experience.
• ISA Arborist Certification or ability to obtain certification; the company will pay for the exam and provide preparation support.
• Valid driver’s license and clean motor vehicle record.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• A degree in Arboriculture, Forestry, Horticulture, Turfgrass, Environmental Science, Plant Science, Outdoor Recreation, Agriculture, or a related field is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Learn sales across a defined territory, including selling, marketing, customer service, administration, production, and training.
• Meet daily with existing and prospective residential and commercial clients to evaluate tree and shrub care needs.
• Establish, develop, and maintain positive business and client relationships within the territory.
• Prepare and present client proposals using sales-process tools, software, and other technologies.
• Supervise work to ensure jobs are completed according to signed contracts and to clients’ satisfaction.
• Set sales expectations with the immediate supervisor and work toward sales goals.
• Work as a member of a tree care crew during training until transitioning to a full-time Arborist Representative.
• Implement and enforce safety, transportation, and pesticide compliance programs.
