About The Position
The Arborist Climber Trainee is an entry-level member of a tree care crew who works alongside arborists on commercial and residential properties. The role provides hands-on, on-the-job training and practical field experience in scientific tree and shrub care. The trainee learns to perform arboriculture work safely, maintain and operate equipment, follow work-zone and company safety procedures, and assist Arborist Climbers and Arborist Crew Leaders on the ground and aloft. The position involves working outdoors year-round in all weather conditions.
Requirements

- Valid driver's license.
- Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and ability to work on a multi-disciplinary team.
Nice To Haves
- Prior tree care, landscaping, forestry, turf care, or horticulture experience.
- A degree in Arboriculture, Forestry, Horticulture, Turfgrass, Environmental Science, Plant Science, Outdoor Recreation, Agriculture, or a related field.
Responsibilities
- Learn through on-the-job training to safely perform arboriculture tasks, including tree climbing, pruning, rigging, cabling and bracing, removing hazardous trees, and identifying trees.
- Properly maintain and operate hand tools, chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts.
- Implement work-zone safety procedures.
- Assist Arborist Climbers and Arborist Crew Leaders on the ground and aloft.
- Assist with driving, backing, dumping, and parking duties.
- Learn, understand, and adhere to safety rules and company safety policies.
