Requirements

  • Previous automotive auction, inspection, or mechanical experience required.
  • Must be 18 years of age and have a valid driver’s license that meets the requirements
  • Able to safely drive a variety of makes/models/sizes of vehicles
  • Proficiency with computer systems, mobile inspection tools, and internal inventory databases.
  • Strong understanding of vehicle mechanics and the ability to perform basic diagnostic determinations.
  • Exceptional ability to negotiate and resolve disputes between parties in a professional and unbiased manner.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret inspection reports and auction rules.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with buyers, sellers, and internal teams.
  • Proven ability to manage a high-volume WIP pipeline and multitask while maintaining strict attention to detail.
  • Professional presence with a commitment to providing a high-quality, customer-focused auction experience.
  • To be able to do your job at ADESA, you must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the quality and throughput of vehicle inspections to ensure accuracy and consistency across all reports.
  • Actively manage the WIP (Work-In-Progress) pipeline to ensure vehicles move efficiently through the inspection and arbitration process.
  • Resolve differences between buyers and sellers arising from representations made on the auction block, including mechanical, cosmetic, or disclosure issues.
  • Conduct hands-on vehicle inspections when needed to verify vehicle condition and ensure high-quality standards are maintained.
  • Act as a professional point of contact for internal and external customers, providing prompt and courteous service regarding arbitration transactions and dispute resolution.
  • Understand and enforce the auction’s arbitration policies, NAAA guidelines, and jurisdictional requirements.
  • Coordinate third-party inspections as required and maintain accurate record-keeping for all arbitrated units.
  • Maintain precise records of arbitration outcomes and provide status updates on the inspection pipeline to leadership.
  • Ensure all company policies, safety protocols, and state/federal laws are followed at all times.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the designated manager.
