About The Position

The AR Insurance Account Manager I sells and services new and existing accounts. This position performs sales and service functions for targeted market programs and the sale of additional coverages as assigned.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of a specialized field (however acquired), such as basic accounting, computer, etc.
  • Equivalent of four years in high school, plus night, trade extension, or correspondence school specialized training, equal to two years of college, plus 12 to 18 months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to effectively communicate information and respond to questions in person-to-person and small group situations with customers, clients, general public and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to utilize common sense understanding in order to carry out written, oral or diagrammed instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several known variables in situations of a routine nature.
  • Ability to obtain an Arkansas Insurance License.
  • Advanced: Word Processing/Typing
  • Intermediate: Contact Management, Database
  • Basic: Accounting
  • Continuously exposed to one or two elements such as noise, intermittent standing, walking; and occasional pushing, carrying, or lifting.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • Semi-repetitive type work which requires periods of concentration for varied time cycles as prescribed by the tasks.
  • While performing the functions of this job, the employee is continuously required to sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, talk or hear; regularly required to stand, walk.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
  • Excellent computer Skills
  • Ability to navigate multi insurance company web rating programs
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Complete required BSA/AML training and other compliance training as assigned.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferably already has an Arkansas Insurance License.

Responsibilities

  • Performs the functions of a CSR to include initiating and follow-up with customers and carriers to sell or resolve problems, answer questions, correspondence and reports.
  • Prepares, processes, reviews and monitors various documents such as premiums, coverage of risk, policies, renewals, claims, applications, changes, endorsements, binders, contracts, etc.
  • Contacts current and prospective customers to sell and explain coverage gaps, and solicitation of new business within market area.
  • Prepares and presents proposals, quotes and recommends coverages based on customer needs and sales of appropriate coverages.
  • Assists customer and arranges payment terms in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Prepares and calculates premiums, invoicing, commissions and other accounting related functions.
  • Creates and maintains computer files and suspense for follow-up action.
  • Attends sales seminars, sales meetings.
  • Participates in company community events and civic meetings.
  • Completes required BSA/AML training and other compliance training as assigned.
  • The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
  • Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
