About The Position

Under the supervision of the Aquatics Director, the Water Polo Coach, from October through November 2026 & April through May 2027, is responsible for developing and leading a comprehensive water polo program that fosters a safe, positive, and engaging environment. This role focuses on teaching proper skills and techniques, building confidence, and growing participation from beginner to competitive levels.

Responsibilities

Lead all lessons, practices, and dryland training sessions
Ensure proper use of pool space, adherence to pool rules, and implementation of appropriate dryland drills
Enforce all safety protocols, including active supervision and reporting of incidents or concerns
Work collaboratively with the Aquatics Director to build and grow a structured learn-to-play program that feeds into a competitive team
Maintain and oversee equipment to ensure safety and proper working condition
Communicate effectively with athletes, families, and aquatics staff
Attend all required staff meetings and in-service trainings
Maintain accurate records, attendance, and program data
Provide advance notice if unable to work scheduled shifts and coordinate approved coverage
Arrive on time and prepared for all scheduled sessions
Create a positive, safe, and fun environment while promoting skill development and a love for water polo
Plan and lead practices for a range of ages and ability levels, emphasizing fundamentals, progression, and safety
Teach proper fundamentals & techniques, introduce new skills, and provide detailed feedback and performance analysis
