About The Position

HealthFitness is seeking a Part-Time Aquatics Supervisor to join their team in Batavia, OH, working up to 15 hours per week. This role involves overseeing pool operations, supporting lifeguard staff, ensuring a safe environment for members, and contributing to the success of aquatics programs. It is suitable for individuals who enjoy leadership, value flexibility, and are passionate about water safety and creating exceptional member experiences. The schedule is approximately 15 hours per week with various hours/shifts.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma/GED.
  • Adult/Child CPR/AED/First Aid certification from American Red Cross, American Heart Association or American Safety & Health Institute required by start date.
  • Certified Pool Operator Certification required; if not current will be required within 90 days of hire.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in Aquatics, preferably in some type of leadership capacity.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience developing, implementing and managing community activities and events.

Nice To Haves

  • American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification
  • American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Certification
  • Bachelor’s degree in Recreation or related field
  • Experience with Swim meet event management
  • Experience teaching Water Exercise/Fitness classes.
  • Ability to be a positive role model for staff and patrons.
  • Must be self-motivated, able to stay on task with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to prioritize tasks and complete assigned tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Management of facility lifeguards and swim instructors.
  • Development and implementation of programming, staff trainings, and basic aquatic maintenance.
  • Assisting with lifeguard coverage, swim lessons, and community water safety and aquatic health offerings.
  • Management and supervision of Aquatic Staff (Lifeguards & Swim Instructors).
  • Serving as a representative for the Aquatic Program, managing phone calls, answering patron questions, facilitating user groups and directing patrons to appropriate staff.
  • Interpreting and assisting in the enforcement of policies and procedures of the Aquatic Department.
  • Developing and implementing Learn to Swim, water safety, and aquatic health programs and activities.
  • Instructing Swim Lessons.
  • Acting as Lifeguard and Facility Supervisor as needed.
  • Assisting with facility maintenance and cleaning.
  • Assisting aquatic management with current projects.
  • Performing other duties as needed/assigned.
