About The Position

Cherokee Town & Country Club is seeking a polished and service-driven Aquatic Manager to join our Family, Swim & Fitness team. This individual will lead the safety, operation, and coaching of our aquatic's programs at both the Town Club and the Country Club, while upholding the club's commitment to exceptional service and hospitality. This is a full-time position reporting to the Director of Fitness and Wellness. You'll lead the swim and dive teams, develop your staff, and create a lasting impression on a highly engaged membership.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required
  • Minimum 2 years of management experience
  • Minimum 2 years of aquatics experience
  • Certified Pool Operator or Aquatics Facility Operator certification required, or obtained within a set timeframe
  • First Aid, CPR, and AED certification
  • Good general knowledge of the sport of swimming and aquatic programming
  • Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor environments

  • Bachelor's degree in Recreation, Sports Management, or a related field preferred

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all Swim and Dive Team operations, including staffing, scheduling, programming, and day-to-day activities.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal health and safety regulations.
  • Attend and participate in Country Club Swim League meetings, events, and socials.
  • Work directly with the Cherokee Swim Team Association to support team operations, communication, programming, and organizational needs.
  • Recruit, onboard, orient, and train aquatics staff to ensure appropriate staffing levels and operational readiness.
  • Provide hands-on skill development and ongoing training for aquatics staff while ensuring all safety policies, procedures, and standards are consistently followed.
  • Monitor and manage the aquatics operating budget, including reviewing monthly financial performance with the Director and addressing variances as needed.
  • Work with the Director to develop annual operating budgets for aquatics programs and operations.
  • Track and manage aquatics capital assets and assist with the development of annual capital budgets and long-term capital needs.
  • Manage relationships with third-party vendors, including Sweetwater, and assist with contract negotiations, service agreements, and performance management.
  • Develop, maintain, and implement a comprehensive Aquatics Operations Manual covering scheduling, programming, maintenance, safety, and daily operations.
  • Oversee pool water quality and operational readiness, including pool chemistry, water clarity, required testing, and compliance with applicable standards.
  • Develop and coordinate in-season and post-season programming for the swim team and aquatics department.
  • Ensure all aquatics facilities are properly maintained, clean, safe, and operational and meet established Club cleanliness and presentation standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Fitness and Wellness.
