About The Position

HealthFitness is seeking a dynamic and experienced Aquatics Manager to join their team at a premier client site in Racine, WI. This role involves overseeing all operational, administrative, and programming aspects of a state-of-the-art aquatics facility. The facility includes a main pool with various features and a children's wading pool. The Aquatics Manager will be responsible for the overall aquatics program, special events, and Red Cross instructor services. This includes recruiting, training, and scheduling staff, managing daily operations, assisting with events, developing programming, distributing marketing materials, collecting data, and completing reports. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Exercise Science, Sports Management, Kinesiology, or related discipline OR the equivalent combination of education, certifications, and experience.
  • 2+ years aquatic experience including previous supervisory experience.
  • Lifeguard with First Aid/CPR/AED from the American Red Cross (if not current will be required within 30 days).
  • Ability to lead, manage and operate a community, recreation, or fitness center.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills including the ability to motivate others.
  • Ability to effectively organize and prioritize work demands.
  • Computer proficiency in MS Office including at minimum Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to navigate electronic onboarding and timecard systems required.
  • Availability to work some evenings and weekends.
  • Applicants must meet hiring requirements including but not limited to pre-employment drug test.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all operational, administrative, and programming aspects of the aquatic's facility.
  • Responsible for the overall aquatics program, special events, and Red Cross instructor services.
  • Recruit, train, and schedule staff.
  • Manage daily operations of the facilities and respond to patron needs.
  • Assist during facility operations, rentals, and special events.
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and evaluation of aquatics programming.
  • Distribute program marketing materials.
  • Collect program and event data.
  • Complete regular reports.
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in aquatics in accordance with HealthFitness policies, procedures and applicable laws including recruiting, onboarding, training, evaluating, developing, and succession planning.
  • Determine and assign work assignments to ensure staff remains challenged and productivity is maximized.
  • Promote and encourage career growth.
  • Ensure staff is properly trained and holds HealthFitness approved certifications needed for safe and effective program delivery.
  • Provide continuous feedback and coaching to ensure quality of all program and service delivery.
  • Conduct annual performance appraisals and may initiate formal corrective action as needed.
  • Lead regular staff meetings to ensure associates are informed about HealthFitness as well as onsite events, initiatives, and status.
  • Attend Leadership meetings.
  • Submit payroll records and billing worksheets accurately and according to policy.
  • Assist General Manager in developing and implementing the yearly strategic business plan to identify deliverables, service offerings and initiatives, targeted outcomes, and marketing strategy.
  • Assist General Manager in preparing and managing operating budget.
  • Ensure expenditures are made in accordance with applicable policies and procedures.
  • Track participant and program data for measurement of goal achievement, outcomes, and results.
  • Assist General Manager in creating outcomes focused reports based on business plan goals and objectives.
  • May coordinate marketing and communications to maximize membership, utilization, and engagement.
  • Support and participate in community events, outreach, networking, and onsite special events.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure confidentiality of data collected during health assessment and health promotion/membership activities in accordance with HealthFitness requirements, including if applicable file transfer, processes, collaborating with related suppliers and/or storage.
  • Perform other duties as needed/assigned.
