About The Position

Join our Montgomery School team in Chester Springs, PA as an Aquatics Director and inspire young minds at camp! At ESF Camps, we are on a mission to create an extraordinary summer experience for campers from preschool to 8th grade, and we are looking for energetic, passionate people to join us and make a positive impact while having a blast! An Aquatics Director is a leader who is responsible for the care and supervision of all campers and Team Members in the swimming pool area while implementing the Aquatics program, safety protocols, curriculum, and schedule.

Requirements

2-4 years’ leadership and staff supervision experience required.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
Must have certifications: Current American Red Cross Lifeguard and First Aid, Current local Pool Operator’s Certification.
We are looking for experience teaching and working with children.
Previous experience in classroom teaching, fieldwork, or a minimum of three (3) years of ESF experience.
Complete all required ESF and state-mandated training and onboarding.
Maintain the "ESF Look" (camp uniform) and embody the spirit of the camp.
Push/pull, lift, and carry a minimum of thirty-five (35) pounds across campus.
Work outside, upright, and mobile for six (6) to eight (8) hours per day
Respond to emergencies, including running (up to 1 mile in some cases) and ascending stairs without undue exertion.

Nice To Haves

Performance management experience is preferred.
Teaching or related certification preferred.
Lifeguard Instructor Certification desirable
Previous experience working with children in a camp setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

Lead, Teach & Inspire: Lead and manage your team.
Be present at the pool at all times.
Implement ESF Aquatics program and curriculum.
Ensure aquatics team members bring swim lessons to life for campers through participation, support, and guidance.
Ongoing teaching and developing team members in swim instruction and lifeguarding.
Lead meetings with the Team and coordinate their daily schedules.
Conduct Team Member evaluations.
Implement and oversee daily swim instruction to campers ages 3-14 at various skill levels.
Ensure that weekly progress reports and other required paperwork are completed.
Implement and oversee proper pool procedures for opening, water quality (testing, chlorine, etc.), and closing.
Record incidents concerning the pool.
Perform and oversee pool maintenance duties.
Ensure the safety and well-being of campers and staff in the pool area with emphasis on positive behavior and effective group management.
Conduct in-service trainings 3-5x/week in pool safety, lifeguarding, and swim instruction, emphasizing teamwork.
Promptly report any concerns to the Site Director.
Be the Ultimate Role Model: Supervise team members and campers, while fostering a positive and safe environment.

Model the ESF Virtues of Character (Gratitude, Respect, Trustworthiness, Effort, Kindness, Positivity, Resilience, Community) in camp daily.
Adhere to all company policies.
Maintain clear, concise, and engaging communication with campers, families, peers, and team members.
