About The Position

Responsible for overseeing the Aquatics center, team and programs. This role requires strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and problem-solving abilities. The Aquatics Director is responsible for hiring and training team members, developing staffing plans and schedules, monitoring productivity, and providing coaching. They will create and foster a team culture focused on achieving goals with a high level of customer service, conduct performance evaluations, and keep the team and members informed of events and activities. This position involves supporting and handling member issues, making decisions in accordance with club policies, and creating special events to promote the department and the club. The Director must ensure team members are properly certified, maintain the aquatic center equipment and facility in safe, working, and clean condition, and manage the purchasing and maintenance of supplies. Regular evaluation and updating of aquatic policies, development of revenue-producing programs, and evaluation of existing programs are also key responsibilities. The role includes regularly monitoring the financial performance of aquatic programs, assessing goal achievement, and making necessary changes. Collaboration with department managers to troubleshoot club-related issues and ensure overall club success is expected, all while operating within budget guidelines.

Requirements

  • Must be able to stand, walk, sit, lift, stretch, reach and bend throughout a shift
  • Ability to work varied shifts including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Must be able to successfully pass lifeguard certification requirements at all times
  • Must be able to successfully perform rescue skills during in-service training
  • Ability to successfully demonstrate proper swimming techniques and use of swim equipment
  • Must be able to work in an often warm and humid environment with heightened noise
  • Maintain a current Lifeguarding certification at all times (Red Cross Certification preferred)
  • Maintain a current Pool Operator License
  • Superior customer service skills
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Read, sign, and abide by the policies included in the Team Member Handbook
  • Club cleanliness is an all-team responsibility; assist whenever necessary in any area of the club to keep club neat and clean
  • Attend mandatory Personal Training meetings
  • Assist with Service Days, as assigned by Supervisor
  • Assist with club programs, special events, or activities, as assigned by Supervisor
  • Promptly respond to work-related correspondence
  • Exhibit a positive attitude at all times
  • Deliver outstanding service to members and guests, following acac’s FiveStar principles

  • Operate within budget guidelines for purchasing supplies, operational costs, and pricing outside vendors and contractors
