About The Position

Provide high quality aquatics-based opportunities for all guests while fostering an environment of fun and creating memories that will last a lifetime.

Requirements

  • Minimum age: 21+
  • Current Red Cross Lifeguard instructor certification or ability to obtain before the start of the season
  • Current NCS Aquatics Director card or ability to obtain before the start of the season
  • Required 2+ yr. leading teams, prefer 2+ Summit employment
  • Willing to become a registered Scouting America member (includes background screening)
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Teams for daily work-related communication
  • Ability to stand, walk, swim, and paddle up to 8 hours daily
  • Ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds
  • Complete the Annual Health and Medical Record , including height/weight guidelines

Responsibilities

  • Lead department staff, including admin items such as scheduling and training
  • Teach aquatics-based merit badges a lessons
  • Present in front of group sizes of 2-24 youth and transfer knowledge
  • Turn in advancement paperwork to supervisor in a timely manner
  • Assist with the set-up, maintenance, and take down of program areas
  • Model the Scout Oath and Law in daily interactions
  • Maintain a clean, organized, inspected, neat, and safe work area
  • Perform additional duties assigned by SBR leadership
  • Abide by policies and procedures outlined in the SBR staff handbook
