Aquatics Director 1
About The Position
The Aquatics Director 1 at YMCA at Clarksville is responsible for the development and implementation of safe and high quality aquatic programs for members and guests, consistent with the Christian mission and vision of the YMCA of Middle TN. This role involves ensuring the safe delivery of aquatic programs, developing and implementing programming, scheduling, purchasing equipment, and promoting facility and off-site aquatic programs. The director will also maintain a clean and safe pool environment, program areas, and equipment, and will hire, train, supervise, and evaluate aquatic staff and volunteers, ensuring adequate lifeguard coverage.
Requirements
- Minimum Age: 21
- Passion, enthusiasm, and commitment to the mission and cause of the YMCA
- Superior supervisory skills and an enthusiastic personality with the ability to inspire and motivate staff, volunteers, members and participants to create a culture of service within our Centers
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community
- Must present a professional image and possess conflict resolution skills, and demonstrate sound judgment and initiative
- Must be highly organized with the ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality of information
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other software programs, as well as the ability to use most office equipment is required
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends
- Minimum 21 years of age
- High school diploma

- Develop and implement safe high quality programming, scheduling, purchasing of equipment, and promotion for facility and possible off-site aquatic programs and other programs
- Maintain a clean and safe pool environment; maintain program areas and equipment to meet all relevant standards
- Hire, train, supervise and evaluate a professional team of qualified aquatic staff and volunteers; ensure lifeguard coverage; staff
