About The Position

HealthFitness, a Trustmark company, is a leader in providing fitness solutions that engage and connect people both on-site and online, to create a strong community of health. The Aquatics Coordinator role is at the Walton Family Whole Health & Fitness center, managed by HealthFitness. This position supports the Aquatics Director, assists with lifeguard coverage, and leads the team through training and scheduling. The role involves overseeing the facility and acting as a leader for the lifeguard team. This position requires availability for evenings and weekends and involves 40 hours per week.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED required.
  • American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification.
  • A minimum of 2 years of combined experience in Aquatics, preferably in some type of leadership capacity.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience developing, implementing and managing community activities and events.
  • Will be required to obtain ARC Lifeguard Instructor (LGI) certification and Certified Pool Operation (CPO) within 6 months of hire.
  • Computer proficiency in MS Office including at minimum Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to navigate electronic onboarding and timecard systems required.
  • Applicants must meet hiring requirements including but not limited to pre-employment drug test.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the recruiting, training, and management of facility lifeguards.
  • Assists with the development and implementation of staff trainings, and basic aquatic maintenance.
  • Responsible for key accountabilities and will also assist with lifeguard coverage.
  • Assist with management and supervision of Aquatic Staff (Lifeguards), including recruiting, training, and scheduling.
  • Serves as a representative for the Aquatic Program, answering patron questions, and directing patrons to appropriate staff.
  • Interprets and assists in the enforcement of policies and procedures of the Aquatic Department.
  • Act as Lifeguard and Facility Supervisor as needed.
  • Assist with facility maintenance and cleaning.
  • Assists aquatic management with current projects.
  • Other duties as needed/assigned.
