About The Position

The Aqua Fitness Instructor leads dynamic, high-energy group fitness classes and partners with the Group Fitness Director and team to deliver a positive member experience, build community, and help members work toward their fitness goals. The instructor creates an inclusive class environment, builds relationships with members, and promotes club programs and events.

The role also includes managing class attendance and schedules in MotionVibe, following payroll procedures, recording basic class statistics, maintaining a clean and safe studio, keeping certifications current, attending required meetings and training, and helping provide class coverage as needed. Early mornings, evenings, and weekends may be part of the schedule.

Requirements

• Current nationally recognized Group Fitness certification.
• Specialty certification when required by the class format.
• Current CPR/AED certification.
• Clear communication and active listening skills.
• Enthusiasm, professionalism, and a supportive coaching approach.
• Organization, punctuality, and attention to detail.
• Ability to build rapport with members and represent the brand in the studio.

• Prior group teaching experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead safe, effective, engaging group fitness classes that meet member expectations.
• Create a positive and inclusive class atmosphere and coach members toward their goals.
• Greet members before class and build relationships with them.
• Promote club programs, including personal training, Mind&Body, Aquatics, Kids, and upcoming events.
• Track attendance and schedules in MotionVibe, follow payroll procedures, and maintain simple class statistics.
• Reset equipment, keep studios clean, and report maintenance or safety issues.
• Maintain certifications and attend required team meetings and training.
• Follow substitute policies and help cover classes as needed.
• Adapt to new formats, tools, and playlists.
