About The Position

Join the Arkansas Center for Women's & Infants' Health (ACWIH) team as an APRN dedicated to delivering exceptional care to women during the antenatal, intranatal, and postnatal periods while engaging in well-woman care, health education, contraceptive counseling, and managing episodic and chronic illnesses as a CenteringPregnancy® provider. The APRN will collaborate with UAMS physicians, nursing staff, and residents to deliver multidisciplinary care, coordinate patient treatment to ensure timely consults, and independently consult and bill for inpatient and outpatient services. Opportunities for clinical research aligned with the APRN's training and interests are available. This community-focused position is based on a mobile health clinic and requires flexibility for evening hours, weekends, and frequent travel. Requirements

  • Master’s degree in nursing
  • Two (2) years of nursing experience
  • Licensed Registered Nurse in Arkansas; APRN.
  • National Certification recognized by the state of AR for practice.
  • Current BLS certification or must successfully obtain certification within the first 30 days of employment.
  • Advanced clinical expertise in women's health, family planning, and well-woman care.
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to provide comprehensive health exams, assess health risks, and promote wellness through education and counseling.
  • Experience in conducting group prenatal care and facilitating group education as a CenteringPregnancy® provider.
  • Skilled in collaborating with physicians, nursing staff, and residents to deliver multidisciplinary care.
  • Ability to coordinate patient care to ensure timely consults and appropriate treatment.
  • Flexibility to work in a community-focused role involving a mobile health clinic, including evening hours, weekends, and frequent travel.
  • Ability to operate all typical nursing equipment essential to performing the job (i.e., scales, procedure equipment, needles, blood pressure equipment, and EKG machines).
  • Must have normal communication sensory requirements.
  • Ability to comply with CDC Universal Precautions when indicated.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s Degree in Nursing, Certified Nurse Midwife
  • Two (2) years of midwifery or Women’s Health experience.
  • Prescriptive authority and a DEA license must be obtained prior to hire.
  • Board Certified in Women’s Health
