About The Position

This position will hire for either APRN or PA. The APRN/PA will assist the collaborative physician with clinic patients, organizing visits and performing clinic procedures, assist in the procedural room, and answer calls daily for the Neurology Headache subspecialty for evaluation, treatment, and procedures for the Interventional pain patient population. The APRN/PA will be responsible for managing the care of outpatients independently or with the physician, answering telephone inquiries and filling prescriptions, and performing injections. A nurse must have a high level of expertise to perform assessments/diagnosis/treatment of actual/potential problems of patients.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Nursing – APRN
  • Three (3) years of nursing experience.
  • Licensed Registered Nurse in Arkansas
  • APRN License
  • 1 year of experience in Neurology preferred
  • Master’s Degree – Physician Assistant
  • 1 year of PA experience in Neurology

Nice To Haves

  • DNP
  • 3 years of nursing experience
  • 3 years of APRN experience in a Neurology Clinic
  • 3 years of PA experience in a Neurology or other clinical area

Responsibilities

  • Extend the patient care and administrative services of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences physicians.
  • Provide comprehensive health assessments, determine diagnoses, implement treatment plans, prescribe medical treatments, and manage health issues for patients in collaboration with the designated physician(s).
  • Work autonomously, as well as, in collaboration with a variety of individuals to diagnose and manage patients' health care problems; and will serve as a health care resource, interdisciplinary consultant, and patient advocate.
  • Coordinate the multidisciplinary care of patients, facilitating all necessary consults, and assuring that care is timely and appropriate.
  • Interacts with and assists the public in a professional and friendly manner as needed.
  • Demonstrates effective communication skills; communicates accurate and complete information; maintains strict confidentiality when necessary.
  • Demonstrates positive working relationships with co-workers, management team, and ancillary departments; follows the Core Concepts of Patient and Family-Centered Care and the Basic Code of Conduct Guidelines.
  • Assist internal and external stakeholders as needed with exceptional customer service.
  • Extend the patient care and administrative services of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences physicians.
  • Other duties as assigned.
