About The Position

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is seeking an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join its IMSL Rheumatology Clinic. This role involves working collaboratively with a physician and a multidisciplinary health team to deliver comprehensive care to outpatients. The APRN/PA will be responsible for patient assessment, diagnosis, treatment, management, education, health promotion, and care coordination for individuals and families dealing with acute and chronic health needs. UAMS is a collaborative health care organization dedicated to improving patient care and the lives of Arkansans through its unique combination of education, research, and clinical programs.

Requirements

  • APRN: Master’s Degree in Nursing – Family Medicine
  • APRN: Three (3) years of nursing experience.
  • APRN: Licensed Registered Nurse in Arkansas
  • APRN: APRN License
  • PA: Master’s Degree – Physician Assistant
  • PA: 1 year of PA experience in a Family Medicine or Internal Medicine Clinic or Rheumatology clinic

  • APRN: 1 year of APRN experience in a Family Medicine or Internal Medicine Clinic or Rheumatology
  • APRN: DNP
  • APRN: 3 years of APRN experience in a Family Medicine or Internal Medicine Clinic, or Rheumatology

Responsibilities

  • Extend the patient care and administrative services of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences physicians.
  • Provide comprehensive health assessments, determine diagnoses, implement treatment plans, prescribe medical treatments, and manage health issues for patients in collaboration with the designated physician(s).
  • Work autonomously, as well as, in collaboration with a variety of individuals to diagnose and manage patients' health care problems; and will serve as a health care resource, interdisciplinary consultant, and patient advocate.
  • Coordinate the multidisciplinary care of patients, facilitating all necessary consults, and assuring that care is timely and appropriate.
  • Interacts with and assists the public in a professional and friendly manner as needed.
  • Demonstrates effective communication skills; communicates accurate and complete information; maintains strict confidentiality when necessary.
  • Demonstrates positive working relationships with co-workers, management team, and ancillary departments; follows the Core Concepts of Patient and Family Centered Care and the Basic Code of Conduct Guidelines.
  • Assist internal and external stakeholders as needed with exceptional customer service.
  • Other duties as assigned.
