Apprenticeship Compliance Specialist
About The Position
The Department of Economic Security (DES) is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as an Apprenticeship Compliance Specialist with the Workforce Solutions Administration (WSA). This position is responsible for ensuring compliance with Federal and State Registered Apprenticeship laws, regulations, policies and standards. Travel will be required for State business. Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current, valid class-appropriate driver’s license, complete all required training, and successfully pass all necessary driver’s license record checks. The license must be current, unexpired, and neither revoked nor suspended. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records, and must complete all required driver training. An employee who operates a personally owned vehicle on state business shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance. This position may be available for remote work within Arizona (1 day per week in the office/hoteling). Requirements
- Knowledge in: Negotiating and monitoring techniques, Quality control and assessment, State and Federal laws, regulations and policies relating to public employment Equal Employment Opportunity Laws, and the Federal Labor Standard Act.
- Skill in: Formulating program related plan recommendations and corrective action plans, Developing and maintaining cooperative and professional relationships and effectively responding to routine inquiries and disputes.
- Ability to: Present information in both written and verbal form, Listen and actively seek information to understand stakeholder circumstances, problems, expectations, and needs, Establish and maintain controls over schedules, timetables and priorities.
- Possess and retain a current, valid class-appropriate driver’s license.
- Complete all required driver training.
- Successfully pass background and reference checks.
- Successfully complete the Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program (E-Verify).
Nice To Haves
- Certification(s) in Lean principles, project management, program management, or similar.
- Business to Business experience.
- Sales and/or marketing experience.
Responsibilities
- Conduct compliance reviews, assessments, and monitoring activities of Registered Apprenticeship programs.
- Investigate complaints concerning Registered Apprenticeship programs.
- Recommend conformity and deregistration status to Program Director.
- Conduct presentations and training sessions on Registered Apprenticeship programs.
