(Windows & doors, flooring, carpentry, kitchen installation, furniture/fixtures/bike assembly etc.) You Shouldnât Apply If: You prefer working where there are no customers to talk to You think that manual labor is for other people Youâre not weather resistant (hot/cold depending on geography) Youâre not likely to follow what you were taught in class and apply it with gusto The Job: Install new garage doors for residential customers Remove existing door and mechanical parts Replace worn or broken door parts using tools Assemble mechanical parts Install springs, sections, slats, and hardware Run wiring to connect equipment Lubricate and test mechanical parts for proper functioning Educate customers on upgraded parts and services and ensure satisfaction Document activities related to installations The Journey of an Installer: Our apprenticeship is a 4 week training program at the A1 Training Academy in Phoenix, AZ. A1 covers flights and accommodations for the duration of your training in Phoenix. (All apprenticeship/training weeks are paid at an hourly rate of $20/hour. You will typically work 45-50 hours a week while an apprentice, and qualify for overtime for hours over 40 in a week, so should average $1,000 a week or more.) Once you complete training, you will receive a $1,000 bonus, and graduate to a junior installer. You will perform your duties in and around your market. Boom! Pay, benefits, other cool stuff: Get your very own A1 wrapped van or truck with a gas card. Tools provided! Steady job flow to keep you busy Medical, dental, vision, 401K Starting pay $36.75/hour (Piece Rate) + commission on additional sales/services Weekly pay $1,000 bonus at completion of Training Academy in Phoenix (in addition to weekly pay) Interview Process: Our interview process is not long, but itâs thorough. We want to make sure that each person who joins the team is the right fit for A1. And that we are the right fit for you! After we review your application, you will be contacted for an interview with a recruiter if we want to know more. Plan on up to 45 minutes. Next step is an interview with the Area manager. Plan on approximately 30 minutes. Next step is when the fun begins: you will be invited to ride along with one of our technicians so you can see what life at A1 is really like. Plan on ½ day.
