About The Position

The Pokagon Band Apprenticeship Program is a 12-week program for Pokagon Band Citizens seeking to gain knowledge and experience within a department of the Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Government. This is an on-site position with an hourly rate of $17 working with the History & Culture. Scheduled work August 31, 2026 – November 20, 2026 Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent A background check and drug screening (including marijuana) is required Applicants must include a resume with education and work history The Cultural Apprentice is an entry-level learning opportunity designed for individuals who have an interest in Native American culture, traditional ecological knowledge, environmental stewardship, and community education. Working under the guidance of the Cultural Sustainability Lead, the apprentice will develop practical skills while assisting with culturally relevant, sustainable, and environmentally friendly seasonal programs. The apprentice will gain hands-on experience in traditional food systems, cultural preservation, participant engagement, outdoor education, and program operations while supporting activities that strengthen cultural identity and environmental responsibility.
