About The Position

Requirements
- Must be a current 2nd or 3rd year Welder Apprentice
- Willing to work towards Welder Certification
- Successfully meet Finning’s educational and testing prerequisites. This includes: completion of grade 12 (not including a general equivalent diploma)
- Meet the requirements of article 5.02 of the Alberta Collective Agreement
- Previous fabrication and machining experience
- Individual will be highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Effectively communicate both verbally and in writing will be necessary for successful candidacy
- You are required to become a member of the Union associated with this position. This will be effective immediately and will result in union dues being deducted
Nice To Haves
- Line boring experience will be considered an asset
Responsibilities
- Assist Welders with production and repairs of heavy duty equipment and/or related equipment in a timely manner
- Minimize downtime and maintain production requirements as scheduled
- Assist with examining and diagnosis of machine defects, repair damage and cracks when necessary
- Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment
- Maintain safe work practices
- Other work assigned as required
Benefits
- Industry Leading Wage: $53.37 – $60.48h
- Continuous Shift Premium: $3.50/h
- Night Shift Premium: $3.50/h when applicable
