About The Position

Greenway Automotive is looking for Apprentice Technicians in the state of Florida. This role is an excellent opportunity for individuals with some experience in oil changes, tire rotations, visual vehicle inspections, and other minor maintenance procedures to start a career in automotive service. The ideal candidate possesses a high school diploma or GED, at least one year of maintenance experience including basic repairs and equipment knowledge, and the physical ability to perform job duties such as lifting, standing, and bending. Reliability, trustworthiness, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently with limited supervision are essential.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • At least one year of maintenance experience that includes knowledge of basic repairs and equipment
  • Physical ability to perform all aspects of this job (lifting, standing, bending, etc.)
  • Reliable and trustworthy
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to stay on task with limited supervision
  • Willingness to learn with hands-on training
  • Able to drive both automatic and standard-transmission vehicles
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to interact professionally with customers, vendors, and staff
  • Able to bend, kneel, squat, stand, and lift heavy objects as needed
  • Ability to learn new technology and all repair and service procedures and specifications
  • Able to operate electronic diagnostic equipment
  • Must exhibit personal and professional integrity
  • Unrestricted driver's license and clean driving record

Nice To Haves

  • Some experience in the processes involved with oil changes, tire rotations, visual vehicle inspections, and other minor maintenance procedures

Responsibilities

  • Checks all fluids and maintenance-related parts and tops-off or replaces fluids or filters/parts as required
  • Performs routine service inspections or tests and completes standard maintenance jobs
  • Maintains cleanliness of vehicles while performing service or repairs
  • Ensures that required documentation is complete and is in compliance with regulations and standards
  • Follows all shop policy, procedure, safety, and environmental rules
  • Helps maintain shop appearance and safety standards and ensures the shop runs in an efficient manner by performing duties such as inventory stocking and other general functions
  • Uses power tools, machine tools, and common hand tools to perform various tasks
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Executes repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications
  • Communicates directly with the Service Advisor so that customers can be informed if any additional service is needed, providing an estimate of time needed for additional repairs
