About The Position

As an Apprentice Sales & Service Technician, you will learn from the best in the industry. Our team will train you on everything you need to know to thrive in your very own market. No previous experience with garage doors required, we got you! Our apprenticeship is a 4 week training program at the A1 Training Academy in Phoenix, AZ. A1 covers flights and accommodations for the duration of your training in Phoenix. All apprenticeship/training weeks are paid. You will typically work 45-50 hours a week while an apprentice and qualify for overtime. Once you complete training, you will receive a one thousand dollar bonus, and graduate to a junior technician. You will perform your duties as a technician in and around your market.

Requirements

  • Be nice!
  • Able to bend, climb, kneel and stand for long periods
  • Physically able to lift 75lbs
  • Valid driver’s license for at least 3 years with a clean driving record
  • Pre-employment drug test (not including THC) and criminal background check required
  • Knowledge of basic software such as navigation apps, Google etc as well as tablet and computer use.
  • Basic knowledge of hand tools
  • GED or HS diploma not required, however reading skills as well as basic math skills (measurements, payments) are required
  • Professional appearance
  • Employment requires current eligibility to legally work in the United States

Responsibilities

  • Travel to various service calls to meet customers in their residence and advise on repair, maintenance or purchase of a new door.
  • Assemble mechanical components or machine parts.
  • Adjust equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Order replacement parts.
  • Repair or replace worn or broken door parts using hand tools.
  • Disassemble equipment for maintenance or repair.
  • Remove parts or components from equipment.
  • Install hardware or other interior fixtures.
  • Run wiring to connect equipment.
  • Lubricate equipment to allow proper functioning.
  • Test mechanical equipment to ensure its functioning properly.
  • Document operational activities
  • Collect payments for goods or services
