About The Position

MEI Industrial Solutions is seeking motivated individuals for their Rigger Apprenticeship Trainee Program. This program is designed to provide paid training for individuals interested in a skilled trades career in rigging and machinery moving. Participants will learn essential skills through hands-on training, activities, and assessments in various environments. Upon completion, individuals will be proficient in the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary for various Machinery Moving/Rigging positions. MEI Industrial Solutions is a large provider of rigging, machinery moving, millwrighting, mechanical installation, industrial storage, crating, and export packing services in the United States, serving diverse industries such as Aerospace, Automotive, Construction, Data Center, Food Processing, Healthcare, Manufacturing, Pharmaceutical, and Institutional companies.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • Commitment to learning and completing all program assignments, tasks, and assessments.
  • Willingness to complete pre-work and homework assignments.
  • Fluent in English (both written and spoken).
  • Willing and able to travel to training locations.
  • Must be able to work in a highly functioning team environment.
  • Must be able to display the highest levels of honesty, integrity, and professionalism.
  • Must be able to take pride in your work and in the company.
  • Must be able to communicate openly and strive for peak performance in daily tasks.
  • Must be able to know and deliver the quality service MEI's customers have come to expect.
  • Must complete pre-employment contingencies including a 5-panel drug test and a Criminal Background Check.

Responsibilities

  • Performing general physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs, including climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials up to 50 pounds.

  • Attending six, bi-monthly, 3-day seminars.
  • Learning and applying skills in MEI Safety Culture, JHA & PTP, Fall Protection, Forklift Hand Signals, Forklift Operation (<15K), Versa Lift Operations, Forklift Attachments, Equipment Securement - MEI Owned, Crane Awareness & Hand Signals, Pre-Rig/lift Inspection, Knots & Taglines, Non-Powered Tool Basics, Power Tools Basics, Ground & Floor Protection, Basic Skate, Dolly & Pallet Jack Application, Basic Jacking Application, Basic Blocking & Cribbing, Basic Machine Securement, Basic Machine Leveling, and Equipment Securement - Customer Owned.
