About The Position

Mechanical & Plumbing Systems (MPS), a member of the AIR Control Concepts family, has decades of experience in the HVAC and plumbing industry. Located in Northern Texas, MPS provides quality mechanical construction services for large and small commercial, industrial, pharmaceutical, and healthcare organizations throughout the region. We are seeking motivated Plumber Apprentices and licensed Tradesman Plumbers with commercial experience who are working toward their Texas Journeyman Plumber License. This is a hands-on field role where you will work alongside and learn directly from our journeymen and foremen on commercial new construction and service projects. The ideal candidate is dependable, eager to learn, and serious about building a long-term career in the plumbing trade. We are looking for people who want to grow into our next generation of journeymen and field leaders, and we will invest in getting you there.

Requirements

Valid Texas Plumber’s Apprentice registration or Texas Tradesman Plumber-Limited License (required)
Commercial plumbing experience preferred; Tradesman applicants should have commercial new construction and/or service experience
Demonstrated commitment to earning a Texas Journeyman Plumber License
Basic knowledge of plumbing hand tools, power tools, and jobsite safety practices
Ability to perform physical work including lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing ladders, and working in trenches, crawl spaces, and outdoor condition.
Reliable transportation to and from assigned jobsites
Valid Texas driver’s license with a clean driving record
Must pass pre-employment background check and drug screen
Must obtain OSHA 10 certification within 60 days of employment (company-supported)
Ability to obtain and maintain security badging for Dallas ISD, DFW Airport, and other secured facilities
Strong work ethic, punctuality, and a willingness to take direction and learn

Nice To Haves

Texas Tradesman Plumber-Limited License
1–4 years of commercial plumbing experience in new construction or service
Experience reading plumbing drawings and installing to spec
Experience with press fittings, grooved piping, Soldering, and Cast Iron systems
Bilingual (English/Spanish)

Responsibilities

Assist journeymen and foremen with installation of commercial plumbing systems, including underground, rough-in, and trim-out on new construction projects
Support service, repair, and maintenance work on commercial plumbing systems across institutional, industrial, and multifamily facilities
Install, cut, thread, and join piping systems including cast iron, PVC, copper, PEX, and carbon steel under the direction of licensed plumbers
Learn to read and work from construction drawings, specifications, and isometrics
Help with layout, excavation, pipe support and hanger installation, testing, and inspection preparation
Load, unload, organize, and track jobsite materials, tools, and equipment
Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe at all times
Communicate clearly and professionally with foremen, teammates, and General Contractor personnel
Follow all company safety policies, OSHA standards, and jobsite-specific requirements
Actively pursue the training, hours, and licensing steps needed to advance toward a Texas Journeyman Plumber License
