Apprentice or Journey Lineworker - Garden City
About The Position
Wheatland Electric is looking for a safety-minded individual to work mostly outside as an Apprentice or Journeyman Lineworker. This position provides on-the-job training for the safe and efficient construction, replacement, operations, and maintenance of Wheatland's electrical system. The successful applicant will be working with the public and employees and will be required to live within the Leoti service area. The full job description that follows is for a fully qualified Journey Lineworker. Finalists will be required to successfully pass a post-offer/pre-employment drug test, background check, and driver's license check.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid Class A Commercial Drivers License (CDL) and CDL Physical Card for operating commercial vehicles
- Excellent communication skills
- Detail oriented
- Must live within the Leoti service area
- Pass a post-offer/pre-employment drug test
- Pass a background check
- Pass a driver's license check
Responsibilities
- Safe and efficient construction, replacement, operations, and maintenance of Wheatland's electrical system
- Climb poles
- Perform pole top rescue
- Lift heavy objects
- Work in weather extremes
- Work with the public and employees
