About The Position
Raley's is hiring an Apprentice Meat Cutter to assist with the day-to-day operations of the Meat department. The role supports department operations while providing excellent customer service, maintaining food safety and sanitation, and contributing to merchandising and quality control. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, results-focused, friendly, and interested in food. The position offers opportunities for growth, open and honest communication, meaningful recognition, and an emphasis on personal well-being and work-life balance. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age. Current Raley's employees must apply through the internal portal, have had no disciplinary action during the past six months, and receive a recommendation and endorsement from their current leader.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Friendly and customer-service oriented; interest in food is a plus.
- Self-motivated, with strong attention to detail, quality, and presentation.
- Able to communicate effectively with coworkers and customers.
- Able to work independently, manage time effectively, and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Able to read, understand, and follow verbal and written directions.
- Able to reliably meet the required work schedule and follow the company attendance policy.
- Able to perform occasional extended periods of standing, sitting, lifting and stocking up to 50 pounds, pushing, keyboarding, telephone use, walking, and bending.

Responsibilities
- Assist the Meat Team Leader with department tasks.
- Cut and trim meat to company standards for retail sale.
- Interact with customers daily and share food knowledge with customers and Team Members.
- Follow food safety, safety, and sanitation policies.
- Support daily department operations, merchandising, and quality control of department offerings.
- Help drive department sales while managing shrink and expenses.
- Perform other assigned tasks.
