About The Position

Apprentice Joiner Based at our regional office in Belmont, Durham, with set days out in the community and to attend college. This is a 24-month fixed-term apprenticeship with opportunities to progress. At Home Group, we believe everyone deserves a safe place to call home, and a great place to build their career. We have two roles available and as part of our commitment to creating real opportunities, one of these roles will be reserved for a Home Group customer. You don’t need previous experience to join us. What matters most is your potential, motivation and willingness to learn. You’ll initially study for your Level 2 which is 24 months, if successful you will move onto Level 3 which is a further 15 months of study. You’ll be a valued member of the team, learning by doing and supporting colleagues with meaningful, hands-on work. You’ll be trusted with real responsibilities while being fully supported as you develop your skills and confidence.

Requirements

  • Achieved GCSEs in English and Mathematics grades 9-4 (A-C)
  • Are IT confident, or at the very least have a basic understanding
  • Are keen to learn and develop new skills for example, communication both, verbal and written
  • Share our values, want to make a difference, and thrive in a team environment
  • Are organised, curious and willing to ask questions

Responsibilities

  • Install, repair and maintain joinery components, such as doors, floors and fittings
  • Prepare, set out and complete joinery tasks in occupied and empty homes, using the right tools and materials
  • Work safely on site, following health and safety guidelines
  • Communicate professionally with customers and colleagues, showing care, respect and good timekeeping
  • Record work accurately and quality checks as part of your apprenticeship
