About The Position

As an Apprentice in HVAC Construction you will be performing all aspects of the duct installation process as well as assisting with Mechanical equipment installation. This role has two levels, Apprentice I and Apprentice II, with increasing responsibilities. Apprentice I focuses on entry-level duct installation, including math and basic plan reading. Apprentice II assists with mechanical equipment installation, duct fabrication, and operating forklifts, while also training lower levels. Both levels require competency in plan reading, understanding scope of work, and identifying the need for change orders or RFIs. The role may also involve coaching and mentoring laborers.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED equivalent
HVAC Installation experience in both new construction and retrofit projects required
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to write simple correspondence.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
Ability to compute rates, ratios and percentages, as well as draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Valid driver's license
Ability to read plans and do a take off
Familiarity with Scope of work and the contract
Identification when a change order or RFI is needed
