About The Position

This is an hourly, full-time position (40 hours) at Foodland Super Market, Ltd., a locally owned and operated company with over 75 years of business in Hawai`i. The Apprentice Fish Cutter is responsible for ensuring seafood cases are well-stocked, receiving, stocking, cutting, preparing, wrapping, weighing, pricing, and merchandising seafood products. This role also involves inventory control, attending the service case, assisting customers, and helping to increase sales. Fish cutters work with equipment such as wrapping machines and knives.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age
High school education preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience
Must be able to frequently lift, maneuver and/carry up to 75 pounds
Must successfully pass apprentice/training program (applies to apprentice only)
Must have TB Clearance
Must comply with all company policies and requirements

Evening and weekend availability is strongly preferred. Candidates with open availability will be prioritized for next steps.

Responsibilities

Ensuring the seafood cases are well-stocked with fresh, high-quality seafood products for our customers
Receive, stock, cut, prepare, wrap, weigh, price, and attractively merchandise seafood department products
Proper inventory control and product rotation to maximize product freshness and availability, while minimizing waste
Attend the service case
Assist customers with special requests, and answer questions about our seafood products
Help increase sales by offering product samples and by recommending additional items
