About The Position

The Apprentice Electrician assists with installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems, equipment, and components under the supervision of a licensed electrician. The role supports safe, reliable, and efficient facility and production operations while developing electrical trade skills and learning applicable standards. The position is based in a manufacturing and industrial facility in San Marcos, Texas, and is identified as a second-shift role.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic understanding of electrical theory and components.
• Ability to read and learn to interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
• Strong attention to safety procedures and detail.
• Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn trade skills.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work in confined spaces, at heights, and in various environmental conditions.
• Ability to stand, bend, and kneel for extended periods.
• Must follow OSHA and company safety guidelines and wear personal protective equipment as required.

Nice To Haves

• Enrollment in or willingness to enroll in an accredited electrical apprenticeship program.
• Previous industrial or manufacturing experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist in installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
• Support troubleshooting of electrical systems, control panels, motors, and machinery.
• Learn and follow electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams.
• Perform basic electrical testing using multimeters and other diagnostic tools.
• Assist with conduit bending, wire pulling, and termination work.
• Follow electrical safety regulations, lockout/tagout procedures, and company safety policies.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas and tool storage.
• Document work performed and assist with maintenance records as required.
• Work collaboratively with maintenance, production, and engineering teams.
