Gridworks is seeking a driven, enthusiastic apprentice for its four-year Registered Electrician Apprenticeship Program. Apprentices develop practical skills through on-the-job learning, classes, workshops, coursework, and instruction from experienced journey workers. They work in a specific department while learning about other aspects of the industry and perform their work under the guidance of a Journeyman-level electrician. The program consists of 8,000 hours of on-the-job training and at least 576 hours of related technical instruction and coursework. Instruction uses NCCER electronic learning and testing and covers workplace and job-site safety, installing and maintaining electrical systems, interpreting the National Electrical Code for solar photovoltaic and energy storage installations, blueprints and construction drawings, electrical construction quality control, and team building. Upon completing the program, apprentices are strongly encouraged to sit for the Commercial Electrician Journeyman licensure examination in their jurisdiction. This is a full-time hourly position with possible overtime. The role may require travel to assigned job sites and work outdoors in varying temperatures. Apprentices must be able to use computers and tablets for electronic learning and printed materials for classroom education.
