Apprentice Electrical
About The Position
The Apprentice Electrician works under the direction of the Master Electrician and is responsible for assisting with the installation, start-up, troubleshooting, commissioning, and servicing of industrial and commercial electrical equipment and systems. The position follows the direction of the Journeyman Electrician to complete electrical maintenance and repair work. The role may involve work in an indoor office setting and visits to outdoor industrial sites, with travel of up to 10% of the time. Employees must comply with applicable safety regulations, personal protective equipment requirements, and Loenbro Environmental Health and Safety policies.
Requirements
- Ability to understand schematics and technical manuals.
- Reliability and excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Willingness to submit to pre-employment screening, including a criminal background check and drug screen.
- Basic computer knowledge.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
Nice To Haves
- Two to four years of electrical apprenticeship experience.
- Knowledge of electrical codes.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Electrician with basic tasks.
- Complete maintenance work orders on electrical equipment.
- Test malfunctioning equipment, identify defects, troubleshoot and repair equipment, and replace defective parts.
- Collaborate with other electrical staff to identify and resolve problems.
- Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading professional publications.
