About The Position

The Apprentice Electrician (E4) performs advanced apprentice-level electrical installation and support tasks with limited supervision while completing the final stages of an approved apprenticeship program. This role requires strong technical skills, increased independence, and a high level of safety and quality awareness.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Advanced standing in an approved electrical apprenticeship program
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems and NEC applications
  • Ability to work independently on assigned tasks while knowing when to seek guidance
  • Demonstrated reliability, quality workmanship, and leadership potential
  • OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety (preferred or required per company policy)
  • Jobsite-specific safety orientation
  • First Aid / CPR (preferred)
  • Apprentice classroom training (Year 3–4 or equivalent)
  • Equipment- or site-specific training as required
  • Must provide and maintain their own basic hand tools customary to the electrical trade
  • All hand tools must be in safe working condition and comply with company and jobsite safety requirements
  • Successful completion of prior apprentice-level training and evaluations
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and work overhead for extended periods
  • Ability to work from ladders, scaffolds, and elevated work platforms
  • Ability to work in hot, cold, noisy, dusty, or confined environments
  • Ability to wear required PPE, including hard hat, gloves, safety glasses, FR clothing, and fall protection
  • Works under limited supervision of a licensed Journeyman Electrician, Lead Electrician, or Foreman
  • Comply with all company and site safety policies and procedures
  • Actively lead by example in safety meetings and JHAs
  • Exercise stop-work authority when unsafe conditions exist
  • Demonstrate accountability for safe work practices and hazard awareness

Responsibilities

  • Read, interpret, and work from electrical drawings, layouts, and specifications
  • Install, support, and route complex conduit systems
  • Pull, identify, dress, and terminate conductors and control wiring
  • Assist with installation and termination of panels, MCCs, transformers, and equipment
  • Perform basic testing and troubleshooting under supervision
  • Identify material, layout, or drawing conflicts and communicate them to supervision
  • Use hand and power tools safely and efficiently
  • Participate in job hazard analyses (JHAs), permits, and lockout/tagout procedures
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas
  • Participate in toolbox talks, safety meetings, and training
  • Identify and report hazards, near misses, and unsafe conditions
  • Support journeymen, lead electricians, and foremen with task planning and execution
  • Perform other duties as assigned within scope of training
