About The Position

The Apprentice Electrician supports the installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical systems under the direct supervision of a licensed or Master electrician. This role is designed for individuals developing their electrical skills and knowledge, with structured on-the-job training to advance toward full competency. Work is performed in a manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, tools, and varying conditions.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Basic knowledge of electrical theory, safety, and tools.
  • Ability to read basic diagrams, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and eagerness to learn.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work in a team environment.
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment screenings and background checks
  • Strong attention to detail, safety awareness, and teamwork.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Must be able to stand for prolonged periods (8+ hours)
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 50 lbs. independently
  • Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, and manual handling of materials required
  • Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
  • Ability to tolerate noise, heat, and dust in a manufacturing environment
  • Visual acuity to read measuring tools, drawings, and detect quality defects
  • Must pass initial and ongoing physical or occupational health screenings (e.g., lifting assessment, vision test, hearing test, etc.)
  • Must be able to wear required PPE, including steel-toe boots, gloves, safety glasses, and hearing protection

Responsibilities

  • Assist in installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures in accordance with local and national electrical codes.
  • Support testing of electrical systems and continuity of circuits using testing devices.
  • Help troubleshoot basic electrical issues and perform corrective actions under supervision.
  • Measure, cut, and bend conduit using manual or power equipment.
  • Pull electrical wire and route cables through conduit systems and cable trays.
  • Assist with motor controls, lighting systems, power distribution, switches, transformers, and panels.
  • Maintain clean and safe work areas; follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE.
  • Prepare, organize, and transport materials, tools, and equipment for job tasks.
  • Perform basic documentation of work performed, materials used, and findings.
  • Shadow senior electricians to learn proper techniques, procedures, and best practices.
  • Participate in required training, apprenticeships, and certifications as applicable.
  • Support other general maintenance tasks as needed.
