Apprentice Education Specialist Teachers (AEST) are enrolled in the HTH Teacher Center District Intern Education Specialist Credentialing Program. They will co-teach alongside an experienced teacher for a gradual release into teaching and instructional responsibilities. The Apprentice Teacher has experience working with students with exceptionalities and/or in education and is ready to be a teacher but not yet ready to have their own full caseload without support. This person should embrace a collaborative team teaching approach and will be responsible for case managing a small caseload while providing specialized academic instruction to special education students. Apprentice Teachers are issued a California District Intern Credential from the Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) which is valid for the two years that they are enrolled in the Intern Program.
